These terms apply to the Moment Log iOS app and its Moment Log+ membership features. “We” means the operator above. Please read these terms before using the app or purchasing. Users below the local age for independently entering a contract should obtain a parent or guardian's consent where required.

1. The app and its license

Moment Log helps you create everyday records, organize photos and Live Photos, view places, arrange and revisit journeys, and choose to export, share or back up content. It is not a public social network, live-navigation service or personal-safety service.

The license for obtaining the app through the App Store is governed by Apple's Standard End User License Agreement. These terms explain app-specific use and membership rules and are not a custom license replacing that agreement. See the Privacy Policy for information handling.

To improve the service, after you agree to these terms the app uses Firebase Analytics to process feature usage, counts, and device and app information. Journal text, photos and precise locations are excluded from analytics events. Please review the information practices in the Privacy Policy, including usage analytics, before agreeing to these terms. Section 5 of that policy explains the information involved and how it is handled.

The free version may be supported by Google AdMob ads in the home journal list, during smart import and before a new journey's first save. An active Moment Log+ membership removes ads. We use non-personalized ads, and any required advertising privacy choices are handled separately from agreement to these terms. See section 5.1 of the Privacy Policy.

2. Your content and acceptable use

You retain rights in the text, photos and other content you create and own. To perform your chosen functions, the app processes, displays and stores content on your device, and passes relevant content to services when you choose backup or sharing. Using the app does not transfer ownership to us or license us to use private content for marketing or training external AI models.

Make sure you have the right to import, use and share content, and respect others' privacy and intellectual property. Do not use the app for unlawful conduct, unauthorized system access, service interference or bypassing purchase validation. These terms do not restrict activities expressly permitted by law or applicable open-source licenses.

3. Sign-in, local information and backups

The app supports guest use and optional Apple/Google sign-in. Providers manage their respective accounts. Signing in does not mean your records have synchronized to the cloud, and signing out does not delete local journals. Protect your device, system accounts and exported content.

Deletion, device loss or damage, or removal of app data may make local records unrecoverable. Keep usable copies when needed. The app's iCloud feature requires active membership, Apple sign-in within the app, and an available device iCloud account, storage space and network connection.

iCloud backups are manual. A successful new backup replaces the previous backup, and restoring replaces corresponding local records and media. Check the backup and local content before restoring. Apple's service rules also affect iCloud storage and availability.

4. Free features and Moment Log+

The free plan lets you create unlimited journal entries and save Live Photo motion within the free allowance. Moment Log+ includes more photos per entry, more entries with Live Photo motion, more journeys, iCloud backup and an ad-free experience. Specific limits, available features and purchase benefits are explained in the app and purchase page.

Moment Log+ has three purchase options:

OptionPayment and duration
MonthlyAutomatically renews monthly; membership access lasts for the valid subscription period.
AnnualAutomatically renews annually; membership access lasts for the valid subscription period.
LifetimeA single purchase providing continuing access to the Moment Log+ benefits described on the purchase page, without recurring renewal fees.

Lifetime access does not expire monthly or annually. It does not promise that all future separate products, devices or external services will remain available forever. We will not arbitrarily remove purchased core benefits merely because of ordinary version updates. If paid services must end or materially change, we will provide appropriate notice and address affected rights as required by law.

5. Pricing, renewal, cancellation and refunds

Your App Store purchase-confirmation screen determines the price, currency, billing period and applicable taxes. These terms do not fix a price for any country. Payment is handled through your Apple account.

Monthly and annual plans renew automatically unless canceled before the current period ends. Cancel at least 24 hours beforehand to avoid the next charge; Apple may process renewal during the final 24 hours of the period. After cancellation, access generally continues until the paid period ends, according to the valid status shown by the App Store.

Manage or cancel subscriptions under device Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions, or through App Store subscription management. Signing out, deleting a local account, uninstalling the app or buying Lifetime does not automatically cancel an existing subscription. If you purchase Lifetime while subscribed, also review and manage that subscription to avoid further renewals.

Price changes follow Apple's notice and required-consent processes. Refunds can be requested through Apple's refund process; eligibility depends on applicable rules. These terms do not remove statutory refund or other consumer rights.

6. Restoring purchases and membership expiry

Use Restore Purchases to revalidate App Store access. This generally requires the Apple account used for the original purchase and connectivity to the relevant services. Apple/Google sign-in within the app is distinct from the App Store payment account.

RevenueCat helps validate transactions and membership status. Cancellation, refunds, revoked transactions or expiry may affect access according to the valid transaction and its verification result.

Membership expiry does not itself delete existing records or photos; existing content remains viewable. Creating content and using other paid features becomes subject to free limits, and member-only iCloud backup and restore may become unavailable. The app does not automatically delete an existing cloud backup solely because membership expires.

7. Maps, smart organization and external services

Map locations, place names, automatic classifications and journey suggestions may be incomplete or inaccurate. Check them before saving or sharing. Do not rely solely on map displays or journey reviews for navigation, safety or precise factual information.

The app includes Google Maps features and content. Their use is subject to the current Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy. Apple Maps, iCloud, sign-in providers, the App Store and sharing services you choose also have their own terms.

Availability may depend on your device, OS version, permissions, network, service region and external providers. We will reasonably maintain the app but cannot guarantee uninterrupted external services or consistently correct suggestions.

8. Deleting information and ending use

You can stop using the app or delete the local account and associated information within it, choosing whether to also delete iCloud backups. Save content you wish to keep first. Local deletion does not remove copies already shared with others or automatically erase information providers retain lawfully or for purchase processing. The Privacy Policy explains the scope.

For unlawful misuse, security risks or invalid transactions, we may restrict the relevant service or invalid access only as necessary and proportionate, explaining the reason where practicable. This does not allow arbitrary removal of valid purchases from users using the app normally.

9. Responsibility and statutory rights

We will provide and maintain the app with reasonable care and skill. Contact us about storage, backup or service problems, and we will assist where practicable. Because local data is under your control, we cannot guarantee remote recovery of deleted or unbacked-up content.

Responsibility is determined by applicable law. These terms do not exclude liability that cannot legally be excluded, including applicable protections concerning intentional misconduct, gross negligence, personal injury and statutory consumer rights.

10. Changes and disputes

We may update these terms as features or legal requirements change and will date the update. Material changes to rights or paid services will receive appropriate notice and, where necessary, require consent. Changes will not retroactively remove statutory rights you have acquired.

These terms are governed by Japanese law, without depriving you of mandatory consumer protections under the law of your place of residence. Contact us first with questions or disputes so we can try to resolve them. Jurisdiction is determined by applicable legal rules; these terms do not limit consumers' lawful complaint or court remedies. If a provision cannot be enforced, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent allowed by law.
